I'm looking for some software I can chuck on the box (Windows) that will monitor the outgoing traffic and let me know what it is when it spikes. I've managed to narrow it down to the specific workstation on the LAN that is generating the traffic, but after giving it a checkover I can't see anything unusual.
Unfortunately our monitoring tool is very basic and doesn't give me too much more info. It only lasts about 30s and then whatever is over-utilizing the link with outgoing traffic stops and his service returns to normal. I can see from our monitoring tools that at the same time he reports disconnections that the outbound traffic spikes to its limit of 20Mb/s at the times he reports disconnections. One of our users is reporting frequent network disconnections.
